PROSSER — Tanner Bolt picked up where he left off last season, throwing four touchdown passes to three different receivers to lead the defending Class 2A state champions past Kennewick 28-7 on Friday at Art Fiker Stadium.

Bolt found Chase Courtney to open the scoring in the first quarter. The reigning Class 2A state Player of the Year then found Logan Hamiln for a pair of second-quarter scores.

Kolby Swift hauled in the final Bolt touchdown toss of the game. Bolt finished with 330 yards on 21 of 33 passing. Hamlin finished with four catches for 78 yards, while JR Coleman lead the Mustangs’ rushing attack with 29 yards on 5 attempts.

The Prosser defense kept Kennewick off the board until AJ Templeton scored from two yards out for the Lions’ only points of the game. Kennewick made it to the quarterfinals of the Class 3A state tournament last season.
